hi, I’m coby greer - holistic counsellor, clinical supervisor, and certified trauma-informed yoga teacher.

While I have more than 25 years of experience in the therapeutic and counselling space across a range of disciplines, including corporate, government and holistic settings, the empowerment and true drive for my work came from my own lived experience in youth.

As someone who suffered with anxiety, addiction and eating disorders in my teens through to my 30s, I was under the belief that living in a state of hypervigilance, overwhelm and tension was simply the norm. It wasn’t until I accessed therapy that I realised this wasn’t the case and, more so - I could change my state of being. Partnered with yoga, which I discovered later in life, I began to feel, nourish and grow a sense of connection, presence and consistency with myself that led to a powerful healing journey, which I wanted to embody for others.

Feeling inspired to combine both the Eastern and Western practices of holistic counselling and trauma-sensitive yoga, I opened my space for clients in 2019 under the name World of Humans. Since then, I have only furthered my education, completing a 300 hour Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) facilitation program at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment and a 2-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Family and Relationship therapy at William Street Family Therapy Centre.

I am so honoured to offer you an inclusive, unique and open space to develop the pathway you need in creating lifelong transformation.

Yours in care,

Coby

We’re a little bit unique at Your Healing Practice, and we love it. Here’s how we’ve been described…

  • I know yoga but I had no idea how much I would learn through Coby

"I know yoga but I had no idea how much I would learn through Coby that helps me in day to day life. Would strongly recommend Coby's sessions to anyone that struggles with trauma!"

  • The Trauma Sensitive Yoga course was a gentle reminder of how I'm in control of my own body and to feel more appreciation for what my body does for me.

“The Trauma Sensitive Yoga course was a gentle reminder of how I'm in control of my own body and to feel more appreciation for what my body does for me.

Whilst accepting that is not always capable because it needs more love, rest and care. The course also showed me how much I've missed being on a yoga mat, how good it feels to me and that is a component of my self[1]care that I would like to include again more regularly.”

  • Coby is a wonderful yoga teacher.

“Coby is a wonderful yoga teacher. She is gentle and respectful. The online course with the video off worked really well for me as there was no opportunity for social comparisons and negative thoughts about my abilities. There was great freedom in how you could participate. I highly recommend the course for anyone who has experienced trauma.”

  • I loved the mindfulness meditation, the energising practices and the restoration.

"I loved the mindfulness meditation, the energising practices and the restoration. I hadn't done anything like the energising practices before and so it was really helpful. I think I can use these techniques with my children as well, to help manage their anxiety."

  • Each session would leave me feeling more confident in my ability to live life freely and have the courage to do more as I implemented the sessions into my day-to-day life.

"Coby spent each session carefully teaching each topic so that I left with a great understanding of the practise and why it works. Each session would leave me feeling more confident in my ability to live life freely and have the courage to do more as I implemented the sessions into my day-to-day life."

  • Coby taught me how to stay calm during situations when my body goes into fight or flight.

"Session 1-4 changed my day-to-day life for the better. Coby taught me how to stay calm during situations when my body goes into fight or flight. Preventative methods, recognising what is happening while it is happening, how to calm my body and mind down to return to normal functioning and stay that way until I can go home again. Brought confidence to attend more social activities and even have fun! Sessions five and six are very useful when getting to sleep at night."

  • This experience was very life-changing for me

"This experience was very life-changing for me, especially as I have been going through a very difficult time in my life. It helped me gain some skills I can use every day, and this motivated me to learn more."

  • I find it difficult to verbalise my boundaries. But this helped greatly

"I found the boundaries and values topic quite helpful as it made me reflect on myself, I find it difficult to verbalise my boundaries. But this helped greatly."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. Your Healing Practice offers a complimentary 15-minute initial phone or online consultation for new clients.

This is a starting place – an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a feel of how I work, and consider whether counselling or trauma sensitive yoga or an integrated approach feels supportive for you. There is no obligation to continue, and you are welcome to take your time in deciding what feels right.

  • Your Healing Practice provides individual counselling and relationship counselling for adults, as well as trauma-sensitive yoga.

Support is grounded in trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware care and may be helpful for lived experiences such as trauma, stress, anxiety, grief, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Sessions are tailored to your unique needs and may be offered as standalone counselling or alongside trauma-sensitive yoga.

  • Trauma-sensitive yoga is a gentle, body-based practice that invites reconnection to your body in ways that feel safe and manageable. Unlike general yoga classes, it is not focused on performance, flexibility or achieving particular yoga positions.

    Instead the emphasis is on:

    • Choice and personal agency

    • Gentle exploration of movement and stillness

    • Awareness, grounding and connection to your body

    • Language that invites rather than instructs

    • Supporting emotional regulation and a sense of personal safety

There is no expectation to ‘get it right’. Your experience is the practice.

  • Trauma-sensitive yoga at Your Healing Practice is grounded in trauma-informed principles and an understanding of how trauma impacts your nervous system.

    Sessions prioritise:

    • Personal choice and autonomy

    • Predictability and clear communication

    • Gentle, accessible movement

    • The option to pause, rest or simply observe

    • Cultivating a sense of internal safety and agency

Participation is always optional, and you remain in control of your experience.

  • Trauma is often held not only in the mind, but in the body. While counselling supports understanding, meaning-making, and emotional processing, trauma-sensitive yoga offers an embodied pathway to regulation and reconnection.

    When combined, these approaches can:

    • Support nervous system regulation

    • Increase body awareness and grounding

    • Help integrate cognitive insight with lived, felt experience

    • Reduce overwhelm and dissociation

    • Foster long-term recovery and resilience

Some clients choose to engage in both approaches, while others prefer one. We work collaboratively to find what is most supportive for you.

  • Yes. Your Healing Practice offers an integrated approach for people who would like both counselling and trauma-sensitive yoga as part of their healing journey.

These services can be accessed separately or together, depending on individual needs and readiness. Integration is always guided by consent and ongoing conversations.

  • A qualified trauma-sensitive yoga facilitator has specific training in trauma-informed practice, an understanding of nervous system responses, and a commitment to ethical, person-centred care.

Important qualities to look for include:

    • Clear trauma-specific training

    • Facilitation has an emphasis on choice and consent

    • No physical adjustments without permission

    • Language that supports autonomy rather than control

    • Ongoing supervision or professional development

At Your Healing Practice, trauma-sensitive yoga is offered within a therapeutic, trauma-informed framework rather than a fitness-based model.

  • Yes. All counselling and trauma-sensitive yoga sessions are available online.

This allows people across Australia, including those living in rural or remote areas, to access support without the need to travel. Online sessions are delivered with the same care, structure, and trauma-informed principles as in-person work.

  • Trauma-sensitive yoga is designed to be gentle and accessible; however, it may not be suitable for everyone at every stage of their healing.

During your initial consultation, we can explore together what form of support feels most resourcing for you right now.

  • You can book a session via the website or start with a free consultation if you would like to explore your options first.

Beginning is a meaningful step – one that unfolds in your time
